Dosing and Administration Instructions
This product is designed to be top-dressed on a portion of the normal daily grain ration to ensure consumption.
- Standard Dosing Rate: The dose for most species is 2.27 mg of fenbendazole per pound of body weight.
- Feeding Rate: The standard feeding rate is 1 pound of Safe-Guard® 0.5% Pellets for each 1,000 lbs of total body weight to be treated.
- Application (Cattle): For cattle, the dose can be fed in a single day.
- Application (Horses): For a standard deworming, feed the appropriate amount for one day. For ascarids or a larvicidal dose, consult your veterinarian for multi-day protocols.
- Application (Goats/Swine): For goats and swine, the total dose should be spread over 3 consecutive days of feeding.
Example Dose for a 500-lb Calf (Single Day Treatment):
You would feed 0.5 lbs (or 8 oz) of Safe-Guard® pellets.
Example Dose for a 100-lb Goat (3-Day Treatment):
Total dose needed is 0.1 lbs of pellets. You would feed approximately 0.53 oz of pellets each day for 3 days. (A sensitive scale is recommended for small doses).
